Dr. Novin Pishevar grew up in Carol Stream, Illinois, and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Health with a focus on aging populations from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. Graduating in the top 3 percent of his college and receiving the Bronze Tablet Award, Dr. Pishevar demonstrated his academic excellence from an early stage.

He then pursued his dental education at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he graduated from the UPenn Clinical Honors program. During his time in dental school, Dr. Pishevar was awarded the Abram Cohen Award in Periodontics, highlighting his exceptional skills and dedication to the field.

Following dental school, Dr. Pishevar pursued further specialization in periodontics at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. He completed a specialty certificate program and Master's of Science in Dentistry. His Master's thesis focused on the role of antibiotics on implant placement and integration, further expanding his knowledge and expertise.

With 8 years of experience in dentistry, Dr. Pishevar is a board-certified periodontist and a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He is passionate about patient care and believes in empowering his patients through education. His approach starts with educating patients about their oral condition and ensuring they have the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions regarding their oral health.

To stay current with the latest advancements in dentistry, Dr. Pishevar regularly reads journals published by the American Academy of Periodontology and attends continuing education (CE) courses on advancements in the field.

Dr. Pishevar recently treated a challenging case involving a young man who had neglected his oral health due to his role as a caretaker for his ailing mother. Through laser therapy, Dr. Pishevar successfully reset the patient's oral condition and stabilized his oral health. The patient was also educated on self-care and preventive measures to maintain a healthy mouth.

Dr. Pishevar's areas of focus within dentistry include gum grafting, bone grafting, implant placement, and full mouth rehabilitations. His expertise in periodontics allows him to provide comprehensive care to his patients.

As a passionate advocate for oral health education, Dr. Pishevar recognizes it as one of the biggest challenges facing dentistry today. He believes that improving oral health education is crucial for promoting better oral care practices and overall oral health outcomes.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dr. Pishevar actively participates in community service work. He and his wife, Dr. Elizabeth Duran, are involved in Give Kids a Smile Day, where they provide free dental care and education to children who may not have regular access to oral healthcare.
